How exactly does Mr & Missive work?
Mr & Missive is the modern alternative to the traditional wedding guest book, which is looked at once and then hidden away in a drawer or a shelf and never looked at again. We provide everything that you need to collect the messages of love and congratulations from your friends and family on your wedding day, and then print and stitch them onto fabric to make the most personal and talked-about piece of art you will ever own.  We believe that your memories should not be hidden away, but treasured everyday.  You can find more about the process of our handwritten Mr & Missives here or more about the process of our typed Mr & Missives here. Why do you print the messages onto fabric?
The use of fabric in our Mr & Missives is to give your piece of art depth, texture and quality that cannot be achieved on paper.  The fabric that the missives are stitched on, combined with the fabric of the centrepiece, gives the Mr & Missive a warm and luxurious design and the intricate stitching of the highlighted messages give such an elegant quality. In addition, the premium fabric that we use is far more durable than even the highest quality paper, ensuring that your Mr & Missive is far more resistant to ageing and discolouration than paper. The texture of the fabric evokes a sense of craftmanship that cannot be matched and the design can be layered, stretched and framed seamlessly, offering endless possibilities for personalisation and bespoke design elements. Finally, the use of fabric has a much lower environmental impact than paper, supporting sustainability by creating a design that will last a lifetime.
How far in advance of my wedding day should I place my order?
Ideally as soon as possible! Due to the number of orders that we receive, we have now started to limit the number of orders that we accept for each month. To ensure that you are not disappointed, please place your order or make contact as soon as possible so that we can reserve your wedding date. 
Can my guests buy gift vouchers or can I add a Mr and Missive to my wedding list?

Absolutely! Our digital gift cards make gifting effortless. Whether you want to cover the full cost or contribute towards a Mr & Missive wedding guest book alternative, this is a thoughtful and meaningful way to show you care. Here’s how it works:

- Choose to send the gift card directly to the happy couple or have it sent to you for an in-person gift presentation. If you would like a hard copy of the gift card, please let us know when ordering.

- Recipients can select their preferred Mr & Missive collection and finalise their design before the wedding day to ensure they’re ready to collect their guests’ missives on the big day.

- Are you the happy couple dreaming of receiving a Mr & Missive? Why not add our gift cards to your wedding gift registry! With customisable denominations and a unique code, loved ones can contribute towards a piece of art that you’ll treasure forever. Once the full value of your desired Mr & Missive is reached, we’ll notify you and send everything needed to gather your guests’ messages on your wedding day.

How can I tell you exactly how I want my Mr & Missive to look?
When you buy your Mr & Missive, you will have purchased the correct size for your number of wedding guests from one of our collection designs. However, there will still be design elements that you need to tell us about, including the wording that you would like on your centrepiece and the colour of the picture mount and frame that you would like.  When you let us know that you are ready to return your completed postcards, we will send you an email with your prepaid postage label and a form for you to complete with all of the design information on.  If you would prefer, we can arrange a telephone call or a zoom call to discuss all of the design details, to ensure that your Mr & Missive is absolutely perfect for you!
Can I add messages from people who are unable to attend my wedding day?
A unique element of our Mr and Missives is that your loved ones do not need to be present on your wedding day to leave their message of love and congratulations. We can seamlessly incorporate missives from guests who are unable to attend, by them either completing one of the Mr & Missive postcards or by them writing their message on a plain piece of paper and photographing it from directly above and in good lighting.  They can then email it to us at info@mrandmissive.co.uk ensuring that they tell us your names and wedding date to ensure that we include the right message on the correct picture!
Can I include the handwriting from a loved one who is no longer with us?
Absolutely, as with the addition of missives from guests who are unable to attend, if you have the handwriting from someone special who is no longer with us this can be included in your design.  There is no need to part with their special note, simply scan it and email it to us or take a photograph, in good lighting and from directly above, and send it to us at info@mrandmissive.co.uk
In the past we have used handwriting from birthday and Christmas cards and, in some cases, we have beautifully stitched these missives in metallic thread, accentuated with Swarovski crystals, to subtly highlight them. 
What if one of my guests writes a message that I do not want included on my Mr & Missive?
If one of your guests gets a little "too creative" with their missive after a few glasses of wine, then do not panic. Every postcard that you receive is scanned and digitally cleaned to remove any smudges or marks, giving us the flexibility to either exclude the message entirely or edit specific parts of it. The final missive will be flawless, and no one (not even the person who wrote it!) will ever know that a change was made.
Why do the number of postcards not equal the number of guests that I have attending my wedding?
We have given an approximate number of messages that can fit on the different sized Mr and Missives as a guide.  However, the number of postcards differs to the number of guests that you have attending your wedding, because you will find that some guests leave a shared message as either a couple or a family.  Therefore, the number of messages will normally be less than the number of people attending.  There is no need to worry if you are not exactly sure how many messages that you will receive, as we will always include some spare postcards in your pack for extra missives or if someone makes a mistake on the card. If you would like to have enough postcards for every guest that is attending to put out on your table placesettings, please let us know when you order and we will ensure that enough are included in your postcard pack. 
How will you know who's messages are the most important to me?
Obviously all of the messages that you receive from your wedding guests are important, however we know that some will be extra special to you. Maybe its that special missive from your Grandparents or the messages left from your bridesmaids that you want to ensure is central on your Mr & Missive.  Once you receive your postcard pack, you will see in the bottom righthand corner that there are two boxes labelled P and S.  Please tick the P box on any missives that you would like to appear more centrally on your Mr & Missive. The S box is for you to tick to indicate which, if any, messages you would like stitched.  We can arrange for these messages to be placed evenly throughout the design and stitched in a bright or metallic thread to highlight them. We suggest that you choose a maximum of 4 stitched missives on the small Mr & Missives and a maximum of 6 on the medium and large Mr & Missives.  If you would like more, please get in contact at info@mrandmissive. Finally, don't forget that you have two digital edits included in the price of your Mr & Missive, so we can ensure that everything is perfect and exactly as you imagined before we go to print.
What happens if I don't get messages from all of my guests on the day?
When we send you your postcard pack, we include some hints and tips on how to ensure that all of your guests leave you a personal message on your big day. However, when you check through all of your completed postcards after your wedding day, if you find that not all of your guests have left you a missive then don't panic! You can always ask your loved ones to write you a short message of congratulations on a plain piece of paper and either send it to us or take a photograph of the message from directly above, and in good lighting, and email it to us at info@mrandmissive.co.uk (please ask them to include your names and your wedding date to ensure that we add the missive to the correct picture!). Alternatively, we can include any messages received in your wedding cards which you can scan and email to us.
Does my Mr and Missive come framed with glass?
All of our Mr & Missives are framed in your choice of black or white wood, have a fitted mount and have polished edged glass. We recommend that you do not display your Mr and MIssive in direct sunlight as, over time, the fabric and threads used may fade. However, if the perfect spot for your Mr & Missive is in strong sunlight, we are able to offer museum grade UV protective glass at an extra cost if this is something that you are concerned about. I've already had my wedding day and have a traditional guest book or wedding cards, can these be made into a Mr & Missive?
Yes, thats no problem at all. We simply need to have the messages from your wedding guest book or the messages from your wedding cards emailed to us and we can complete the same design process as if we had received them from your wedding day.  In fact, our Mr & Missives make a beautiful present for a special anniversary or birthday gift for the person you never know what to buy for!
