My name is Georgie and I am the heart behind Mr & Missive. I’ve always been a really sentimental person and someone who treasures the little things—the card with heartfelt words, the recipe scribbled in a loved one’s handwriting, the small things that transport you back to a moment in time. Growing up, I held onto these keepsakes because they felt like a piece of someone I loved and something I could carry with me forever. That love for meaningful connections is what fuels everything I do. As an adult, I still have a box of special things that wouldn’t mean anything to anyone else, but when I take out those cherished objects they take me back to a time and place where I felt happy, loved and content.   I believe that it’s the little things in life that are important, that the memories of special moments should be cherished and our loved ones, whether they are friends or family, are the most important things in life.  It’s these cherished things that tell the story of my life and I believe that there is something timeless about holding a tangible reminder of a special moment. 

How it all began

Mr & Missive started a few years after my own wedding.  We had a traditional wedding guest book on the day, but it was gathering dust on the shelf and rarely opened.  We had beautiful photographs from our special day, but they were slowly being replaced by pictures of our three children.  I have always had a love of sewing and beautiful fabrics and on a whim one evening I traced all of our wedding guest messages onto fabric and over the next few weeks I carefully handstitched them ensuring that the different styles of handwriting remained.  I then framed the fabric and displayed it in our home.  Over time, visitors and guests have commented on that picture - saying what a brilliant idea it is to have it on show - and then friends and family started asking me if I could do something similar for them.  And so, Mr & Missive was born.

My why

I am now on a mission to ensure that the traditional wedding guest books and USB sticks from audio guest books are not your only option. At Mr & Missive we believe that treasuring those memories every day is so important. Whether it’s the words of your guests, messages from loved ones who couldn’t be there, or even small notes from treasured cards that include the handwriting from those who have passed on, I take those cherished memories and turn them into something you can display and treasure every day. How it works

From the moment you choose Mr & Missive, everything is taken care of. We provide all the postcards for you to collect your loved one’s missives on your wedding day, the pens, hints and tips to make sure that everyone leaves you a message and clear instructions of what to do after the big day. Once you return the completed postcards to Mr & Missive HQ, the missives are digitised and smudges or crossings-out cleaned up (and there’s no need to worry if someone writes something inappropriate after a few too many glasses of fizz as we can deal with that too!). We then create your personalised design, which can feature anything from your names and wedding date to lyrics from “your” song or a photo, and we send you up to two digital edits to ensure that you are completely happy with the design. Once agreed, we print and stitch your design onto the highest-quality cotton fabric and embellish it with your choice of stitched elements and Swarovski crystals. Finally, your personalised wedding keepsake is completed in a stunning wooden frame, with a coloured mount of your choice and delivered free of charge (within mainland UK) - all ready to take pride of place in your home.
